Sony Giving PS+ Subscribers 5 Days Free and 10% Discount
As a result of the PlayStation Network experiencing connectivity over the Christmas period, Sony are offering various good will gestures to thank users for their patience.
In a post on the US PlayStation blog, Sony revealed that those users who had an active PlayStation Plus membership or a free trial on Christmas Day will be refunded with a five day extension at no extra cost.
As well as the added days, Sony have revealed that at some point this month there will be a 10% discount code, good for one-time purchase off a total cart purchase which can be used on anything from games, TV shows, films and season passes.
You can read the full post from Sony right here.
While you wait for your 10% discount code, why not check out the deals already available on the PlayStation Store this month.

It's better than a kick in the teeth. But how long will the 10% last for? Can we wait for the next sale, or will it run out curiously before then?

I don't think they've specified the time limit, but I would think you get the 10% discount in your basket when you've met the criteria (so have 1 item in the basket that isn't already discounted). It will probably last a month or so, can't see it running indefinitely.
