Sonic and Tails Coming to Super Monkey Ball: Banana Mania
Super Monkey Ball: Banana Mania, the 20th anniversary celebratory remaster of the first three console titles in the Super Monkey Ball series, seems to be hedge(hog)ing its bets with the announcement of several new characters. From developer Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio and publisher SEGA, Banana Mania will feature two more iconic SEGA characters to celebrate their series' own 30th anniversary, Sonic the Hedgehog and Miles "Tails" Prower, both rocking their Classic design. Rolling around as free playable characters at the game's launch, both Tails and Sonic can be played as in every one of the title's 300+ levels, collecting rings as opposed to the series' usual bananas.
Sonic and Tails join Beat of Jet Set Radio fame as guest stars to the title's cast, alongside more characters to be announced soon.
Super Monkey Ball: Banana Mania launches at the speed of sound on the 5th of October, 2021, for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam for £34.99 (console) and £24.99 (PC). The Digital Deluxe edition will retail for £44.99. Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania will also support Xbox Series X Smart Delivery immediately on release, ensuring players will only have to buy the game once to play it on their favourite Xbox console. Additionally, buy the digital PS4 version from PlayStation Store or the physical version from a retailer and play the PS5 version at no extra cost.
