Skylanders Battlecast Announced

The Skylanders franchise is a popular collect 'em all videogame series in which small figurines can be bought to put characters into the game worlds. Now they are also adding cards into the mix with Skylanders Battlecast.

Players will be able to buy physical cards then use their mobile device to scan them into a digital collection.

Activision also promises a single player campaign as well as PVP. There is no word yet if you can buy the cards digitally without picking up physical cards.

The release date is expected to be later this year.
