Shenmue III Out Now

The legendary and long-awaited Shenmue III is available now, almost two decades after the previous entry released on the Dreamcast and Xbox.

Players will once again take on the role of Ryo Hazuki as he seeks out his father's killer in an grand adventure set in and around various Chinese locales. The world is filled to the brim with life, as Ryo can explore, take on jobs, train in martial arts, interact with locals, play arcade games and —of course— solve the mystery of his father's death.

Yu Suzuki, series creator, shares his appreciation for the fanbase that allowed him to continue telling the story of Shenmue: 'Thank you so much for your enduring support these 18 years since Shenmue II… I hope from the bottom of my heart that Shenmue III becomes special for you, truly I thank you!

The Shenmue series is known for incorporating unprecedented levels of detail in its gameplay to immerse players in Ryo's life. It stands to reason that an entry on current consoles should continue that trend and give players one of the most intricate open worlds in gaming. Listening to Yu Suzuki certainly makes it clear that the passion is there to make something special with Shenmue III.
