Shadow Warrior 3 Packs Serious Attitude into a Short Teaser Trailer

Lo Wang, beloved Shadow Warrior protagonist, is back—stronger, more capable and full of more wisecracks than ever before. The latest "corporately mandated" teaser trailer for Shadow Warrior 3 cements the game's tongue firmly in its cheek. On the phone to his agent, Wang complains that "these marketing suits want this (the trailer) in one freaking take". Lo Wang clearly hasn't lost his penchant for making fun, and it seems Devolver Digital (the game's publisher) is more than happy to be the butt of any joke. With wild combat encounters packed with magic powers, free running, guns, swords... oh, and a grappling hook, Shadow Warrior 3 is dialling up the intensity to greater heights than any of its predecessors. After inadvertently unleashing an apocalypse-bringing dragon upon the world, Wang must right his wrong and save the world once more—while slashing, shooting or pulverising anything that stands in his way.

What started as a relatively simple reboot of a 90s shooter classic has truly taken on a life of its own. Despite the leaps and bounds the series—developed by Flying Hog—has come on in recent entries, game director Kuba Opoń wants to reassure fans who still have a soft spot for the Shadow Warrior of old: "we never forget Flying Wild Hog’s roots and we hope that Shadow Warrior 3 will feel like a homecoming for those fans that have been with us since the beginning"

The first gameplay trailer for Shadow Warrior 3 will be revealed at Devolver Direct on 11th July at 8PM BST.
