Sega’s Mega Drive and Genesis Hub is a Huge Hit
With the introduction of the Sega Mega Drive and Genesis Hub on Steam, the Japanese veteran have seen a surge in popularity for their old franchises. The service has been open since the 28th April and in that time, over 350,000 titles have been purchased through the service. With Steam Workshop support, there’s also a healthy modding scene opening up, with hundreds of custom ROMS having been uploaded.
“We’re really chuffed that the fans have got behind this update,” said James Schall, Director of Digital Distribution for Sega Europe. “350,000 sales is a phenomenal achievement for content which is over 20 years old! It shows that there’s still a huge following out for the Sega Mega Drive and Genesis, reinvigorated by the fantastic community of modders out there uploading great content.”
