Second Teaser Trailer Released for Bomb Rush Cyberfunk
Lethal League & Megabyte Punch’s developer Team Reptile have shown off a little more gameplay in their second teaser trailer for the upcoming grinding graffiti game: Bomb Rush Cyberfunk.
If the premise or the cell-shaded aesthetics didn’t cast you back to the early 2000’s, Cyberfunk is a clear homage to Sega’s Dreamcast hit - Jet Set Radio; even going so far as to swipe composer Hideki Naganuma from the original series to lay some funky fresh beats.
It seems as though you are not limited to grinding on poles and barriers, as by the looks of things your character can perform acrobatics and parkour their way across the city. Plus, it appears that your soap shoes have anti-gravity properties - the trailer demonstrating one character grinding on a rail upside-down!
And you read that correctly, I did type “soap shoes” - the future has no time for inline skating - It’s all about grooved grind-plates in the arch of the shoe! Popularised in the late nineties, and later on by Sonic the Hedgehog in Sonic Adventure 2, it seems as though time has passed enough to warrant a nostalgic revival.
Other features found on the menu screen (in the form of a flip phone) shows us a “music player” with a notification (speculation: collecting, purchasing, or rewarding the player with new tunes!), as well as “graffiti” and “outfits” options.
Bomb Rush Cyberfunk is currently set to release on Microsoft Windows at an unspecified date in the future.
