Seasons Coming to The Sims 4
Despite the controversy and uncertainty surrounding the future of the franchise, EA recently announced that the next expansion pack for their most recent iteration of the popular life simulator will be fan-favorite Seasons, bringing with it a host of new features including dynamically changing weather, holidays, and brand new actions and events for everyone's favorite virtual personalities to enjoy (and possibly die doing, we're not here to judge).
Seasons has long been a staple of The Sims series, and much of the features make a triumphant return in the franchise's most recent iteration. As the name implies, the new pack brings with it the four seasons, and each season features different activities that can be performed - from creating snow angels and snowmen and ice skating in winter, to splashing around in puddles in the spring and kiddie pools in the summer, to playing in leaves in the autumn.
“With a vast variety of weather elements that empower the ways players can play with life, The Sims 4 Seasons will allow players to use their Sims to tell relatable stories like those they’ve experienced in real life. The ever-changing weather will transform worlds in unique ways by impacting gameplay choices, Sim’s relationships, and Sim’s daily life, while also delivering new challenges,” said Grant Rodiek, Producer. “Our team has worked hard to bring this highly-requested expansion to the game, and The Sims 4 Seasons adds more dimension to The Sims universe than ever before.”
However, it's not all "been there, done that" with the newest iteration of Seasons. Holidays, including Love Day, Havest Feast, and Winterfest, will also make a return to the series, complete with their own unique activities and decor. Players can even create their own custom holidays in line with their own, personal traditions, a first for the series.
Lastly, two new career paths will open for players' virtual people. Gardening fanatics can become floral designers, arranging beautiful floral arrays and delivering them around town, while more science-savvy sims can leap into the botanist career path to analyze plants and share their findings in order to earn special grants.
