Sayonara Wild Hearts is Coming to Xbox One Next Week

After releasing on other platforms last year, surrealist action-rhythm game Sayonara Wild Hearts is finally releasing on Xbox One next week.

Being described by developer Simogo as a “pop album video game”, Sayonara Wild Hearts is a rather unique take on the rhythm genre. Instead of requiring strict inputs and including levels that vary in musical styles, Sayonara is controlled through a rather simple set of mechanics that mostly has the players simply moving the character and collecting hearts.

That isn’t to say that the game isn’t interesting to play though. Despite having very basic controls, each level offers its own unique concepts and visuals, making it feel more like an experiential journey at times. Through one level, players will be riding through a forest, shooting at wolves with a gun-mounted motorbike, while another level will have players guiding a boat through a lake avoiding maelstroms.

The title was met with positive reviews on other platforms, with many critics heavily praising the soundtrack and visuals. The game also went on to be nominated for numerous awards.

Sayonara Wild Hearts is available on Xbox One on 25th February.
