Saints Row The Third Remastered Shows Off a Souped Up Steelport
Players wanted it, rumours teased it and now it's here. Saints Row The Third Remastered has been officially unveiled for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC with a trailer (found above) showing off the fully overhauled textures, lighting and all-new assets. What's more, it's out next month: 22nd May to be exact.
The Saints Row series came into this world as decent open world crime game—one of many that came in the wake of GTA's popularity explosion—that, to put it lightly, didn't set the world alight. As the series continued, however, its popularity grew and it developed an identity of its own. Where Grand Theft Auto looked to tell increasingly 'serious' stories, Saints Row embraced absolute absurdity with quips, zombies, sing-a-longs, superpowers, (Mayor) Burt Reynolds and a whole lot more. For many, Saints Row The Third was the pinnacle of the entire series, if not developer Volition's entire catalogue. Now, that crowning achievement is coming to current gen consoles for the first time (and PC, for the second time).
With the entire base game (including co-op mode), all three mission expansions and over 30 minor DLC packs, the complete Saints Row The Third experience has been reworked with modern visuals—and it looks superb. Over 4,000 assets have been given a new coat of paint, transforming character models, environments and visual effects; a new lighting engine joins the visual mix too, ensuring that—despite its age—the game will hold its own against modern releases.
Saints Row The Third Remastered releases 22nd May for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.

The enhanced visuals are looking extremely cool. Any excuse to fire up a Saints Row is fine by me!
