Risk of Rain 2 Leaving Early Access on PC
After launching on Steam Early Access in March 2019, Hopoo Games' third-person roguelike shooter, Risk of Rain 2, is officially launching into version 1.0 on 11th August 2020. Alongside a price jump (it's currently £14.99, so snatch it up quick if you want it cheap), the full release will bring along a host of new content:
- New Survivor - "The Captain", Risk of Rain 2's 10th playable character. In addition to wielding a shotgun-rifle combo, this "high-ranking" character summons healing and combat support from the orbiting dropship, "UES Safe Travels".
- New Stage - "The Moon", bringing new enemies and an all-new boss.
- New Items - Bringing the game's total to 110.
- New Skill Variants - Challenges unlock more active skills for Risk of Rain 2's survivors.
- New Lore Entries - Learn more about Risk of Rain 2's universe (or don't—they're optional).
- Server Browser - Players will now be able to join or create dedicated servers with "difficulty, rule voting, password protection and more".
Risk of Rain 2's full release isn't just a number update, it's a substantial bolt-on to the game itself—completely free to existing owners of course.
Risk of Rain 2's full release hits PC 11th August 2020. News regarding console versions is expected at a later date.
