Riot Games' Hero Shooter Valorant Officially Unveiled

After being teased lasted year as 'Project A', Riot Games have finally revealed Valorant, their upcoming hero shooter. Alongside a short reveal video on Twitter, some alpha gameplay was shared through the Valorant YouTube account.

Unlike other hero shooters like Overwatch and Paladins, Valorant seems to be taking much more inspiration from Counter-Strike for its 5v5 gameplay. There's a buy menu, maps that are laid out similarly to Valve's long-running series, and a much lower time to kill that you'd expect from a hero shooter. There's still an emphasis on unique characters with their own abilities, but nothing quite as crazy as what you'd usually expect from the genre.

Valorant is aiming for a summer 2020 release for PC, with a closed beta coming at an announced time before then.
