Riot Games Announces Changes to League of Legends Esports and Locations for Events up to 2027 — New Tournament, MSI, and Worlds

Fans of Esports will be ecstatic to hear that we got a release schedule for upcoming events. Not only do we learn of a brand-new International Event, but we also have gotten a look at where these will take place... until 2027! Prepare to plan your trips, as this is one of the largest heads-ups we've received for upcoming League of Legends Esports events in a while, including Worlds itself!

But before we jump into that, we need to talk about one of the changes coming to League of Legends Esports. A new rule has been added, named Full Fearless Draft, which will force Esports players to adapt accordingly. What this means is that Champions picked previously in a "Best of" series will be banned for the rest of that series. This will force teams to adapt and show off more of their Champion pool expertise, removing repeated match-ups from Esports. This will be part of Split 1 for every Region and the new International Event, named First Stand Tournament that will take place in LoL Park in Seoul.

MSI 2025 is also heading to Vancouver, Canada, from June 27 to July 12, which will be the first return to Canada since 2017. Worlds will be set in China, where Play-Ins and the Swiss Stage will kick off in Beijing, which will be followed by the Quarterfinals and Semifinals in Shanghai, and then the event will end in Finals, which will take place in Chengdu.
