Return to a Classic in Dead Cells: Return to Castlevania

It’s the gift that keeps on giving! The popular roguelike metroidvania game from 2018 that won the Game Award for Best Action Game has received a brand new trailer for its upcoming Return to Castlevania DLC, its biggest yet. The teaser featured a familiar yet, unexpected playable character.

This popular metroidvania title is, of course, Dead Cells, and the team behind it has released a gameplay trailer for the latest expansion, which is coming to PC and consoles next month. But who is the mystery character? While he’s restricted to only being playable in a secret mode that’s locked deep within Dracula’s castle, the mystery character is still really cool. His name is Richter, and he’s from the Castlevania series. The mode allows players to use Richter’s iconic whip attacks ripped straight from the long-running vampire hunting franchise. For bonus nostalgia points, fans of Simon Belmont’s descendent will even have to destroy candles and collect hearts! The trailer also shows how players can slay as The Beheaded throughout Dead Cells: Return to Castlevania.

Dead Cells: Return to Castlevania launches on the 6th of March for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S as well as the Nintendo Switch.
