Remedy Have Obtained Alan Wake Publishing Rights
Remedy Entertainment recently revealed in a message to investors that they have obtained the publishing rights to their dormant franchise Alan Wake from Microsoft Entertainment.
Alan Wake originally released in 2010 for the Xbox 360 and PC, with a standalone downloadable sequel titled Alan Wake’s American Nightmare releasing in 2012. Both titles received a strong critical reception as well as respectable financial results, with the franchise selling a total of 4.5 million copies by 2015.
Remedy also reportedly told Gamespot that Alan Wake could potentially release on other platforms in the future, however there aren’t any current plans. This may also indicate that the studio could be interested in creating a sequel to the game, although that would likely be a number of years off.
Remedy Entertainment are currently working on a new IP titled Control, which is launching on 27th August 2019 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
