Red Dwarf Getting First Videogame

With the longest running cult sci-fi sitcom returning to British television later this month, GameDigits have announced that they are releasing a game to tie into it. Red Dwarf follows the adventures of the last human being alive, a hologram of his dead bunkmate, a service android and a being which evolved from his cat.

Lister, Rimmer, Kryten and Cat have appeared in nine seasons of the show, one feature length episode, a pen & paper RPG and four books - but never a videogame. That's set to change on the same day that the show returns with Series XI, on 22nd September.

Red Dwarf XI: The Game will release on Android and iOS, but at the moment we don't know much about it. It will feature content from co-creator Doug Naylor, and allow you to control the mining ship Red Dwarf, the transport vessel Starbug and the crew.

Although who wants to control Rimmer?
