Realm Royale Hits Early Access
Realm Royale is now available in early access. From Hi-Rez, creators of Smite - the MOBA that allows every mythology nerd to finally find out who would win in a fight between Zeus and Thor - Realm Royale is the venerable team's foray into the new big thing: battle royale games.
In Realm Royale, players pick from a host of fairly archetypical classes: warrior, mage, hunter, assassin, and engineer, and duke it out in teams of four to be the last team standing. While the host of classes makes the game sound high-fantasy, characters in Realm Royale wield shotguns just as often as bows and arrows, giving the game an interesting blend of fantasy and modern technology.
Despite being a battle royale game, Hi-Rez is keeping their newest title fresh with features not usually seen in the genre. Not only does the game put players on teams of four (making it what the folks at Hi-Rez are calling "team royale"), but players are also challenged to not only find equipment, but also disenchant, which allows you to forge new, legendary equipment at one of the various forges around the world, in an effort to give your champion an edge over the others.
As a celebration for the game's early access launch, Hi-Rez will be starting a 130+ hour stream on Twitch, Mixer, and Steam starting on Tuesday, 5th June, 2018 and running through Sunday, 10th June, to show off the game.
