“Really, Again?” New Release Date for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl Announced In Trailer
GSC Game World, who are currently working on S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, have announced in a new trailer, the title’s release date will be pushed back to November 20, 2024.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl was previously slated for a release on September 5, 2024, with GSC Game World stating bug fixes are the reason for the new date.
“We know you might be tired of waiting, and we truly appreciate your patience.” said Yevhen Grygorovych, Game Director at GSC Game World.
“We’re just as eager as you are to finally release the game and for you to experience it for yourself.”
GSC Game World has also announced in the video an event in collaboration with Xbox on August 12, where they will be releasing a Developer Deep Dive showcasing an update on S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl before release, including:
- Interviews and behind-the-scenes accounts of the development process;
- Lots of new footage, including a world overview, various locations, gameplay, and cutscenes;
- A full video walkthrough of one of the story quests.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl has been riddled with delays since Ukraine, where the development company is located, was invaded by Russia in early 2022, including a member of the development team, Volodymyr Yezhov, who passed away in combat.
