Ready Your Ovens for Magical Delicacy's Release Date Trailer
Whitehorn Games, the publisher of a host of inclusive and accessible titles such as Botany Manor and Lake, has announced the release date for Magical Delicacy! The Metroidvania-lite cooking game has been developed solo by sKaule, and there's a lot to look forward to.
Playing as Flora, a young witch who dreams of improving her magical skills to become fully-fledged, you'll travel to the enchanting town of Grat. Here, Flora cooks meals and potions for the diverse adventurers and townsfolk who come through the cosy harbour town. These charming characters will have their own stories to tell, with some being forgotten legends and others being masters of their craft.
As Flora builds her shop, she can collect a host of ingredients by shopping, foraging, or growing them herself. You can upgrade Flora's kitchen and deliver orders to the people of Grat, allowing Flora to learn more about the town she now calls home.
The story is completely linear, but there are plenty of optional encounters and the chance for free play as you learn the extensive cooking system. Creativity is highly recommended, as you can collect ingredients through quests, trading, and exploring. You can then make more dishes with your kitchen upgrades and travel to deliver them while exploring the 2D town.
So, if you, like me, are excited about Magical Delicacy, you'll be pleased to know it's out on July 16th. It will be available on Steam, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Series X|S. Plus, Game Pass subscribers will gain access to it from day one!
