Rayman Redemption - The Unofficial Reimagining of Rayman's First Adventure
Rayman is 25 years old this year. The quiet, yet ever-present platforming icon is often drowned out among the collective noise of Mario, Sonic and their cohorts—even despite the frankly outstanding pairing of the recent Rayman Origins and Legends titles. However, not everyone is completely blind to the 'bronze medallist' of 90s platforming fame. Looking to shine a much-deserved light on Michel Ancel's limbless hero is Ryemanni, the Finland-based game developer and creator of Rayman Redemption, a superb fangame that reinvigorates the original 1995 Rayman with a whole host of new levels, collectibles and content.
Released on 19th June, the fangame is free to download and can be found here. Rayman Redemption is a clear labour of love on its creator's part; be sure to show Ryemanni support on the game's download page or his various public social media channels. His Twitter is currently flooded with praise from fellow Rayman enthusiasts and deservedly so—Rayman deserves more love than the current gaming market is showing him.
If you're a Rayman fan—new or old—you owe it to yourself to try out this loving homage to one of gaming's most underrepresented icons.
