PUBG: NEW STATE Reaches 10 Million Pre-Registrations on Android

It seems that players just can't get enough of PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS. Owner KRAFTON has announced that PUBG: NEW STATE, the upcoming mobile spin-off to Brendan Greene's smash-hit battle royale shooter, has reached 10 million pre-registrations on the Google Play Store. The figure was achieved just 43 days—a touch over six weeks—after pre-registrations were opened up on the platform.

While there is no firm release date for the mobile-only battle royale title, it is expected to launch this year. Furthermore, KRAFTON has announced that players from select countries (to be announced) will be able to participate in an alpha build of the game in the second quarter of 2021. 

PUBG: NEW STATE, while not quite a full sequel to 2018's PUBG Mobile, will take many of the same battle royale concepts and fine-tune them for mobile, expanding the game's lore and mechanics in the process. Set in 2051,  will reportedly deliver the "most dynamic and realistic gunplay for mobile gaming". It will also bring new weapon customisation mechanics, new equipment (like ballistic shields and drones) and an all-new map: TROI. 

PUBG: NEW STATE will release in 2021 for Android and iOS.
