Prison Architect Gets Final Update
Prison Architect has had over 40 monthly updates since it launched as a crowdfunded alpha back in 2012 becoming in many ways the poster-child for how to utilise Steam Early Access.
The latest update, version 2.0 which is the 8th since it officially came out of Early Access, signals Introversion wrapping up development work on the PC version of the title barring bug-fixes and other maintenance type updates.
Version 2.0 brings with it access to the developer tools and cheats as an option for players to experiment with as well as improvements to the policy window allowing you to set which behaviours lead to prisoner security changes, for example, murder could be set to immediately make that prisoner a maximum security individual. You can also enforce or relax cell quality checks to ensure misbehaving prisoners never get a nice cell.
The console versions of the game will continue to get updates and there will also be a tablet version of the game at some point but the main team at Introversion are moving onto their next project, Scanner Sombre.
