Premium Memberships Introduced for Fallout 76
This past year has seen Bethesda Game Studios digging itself ever deeper into a Fallout 76 shaped hole; the latest decision made by the company seems destined to continue that trend. Welcome to Fallout 1st, a premium membership for the most devoted of Fallout 76 players.
Players willing to pay £11.99 each month or £99.99 each year will gain access to a multitude of privileges, including: private game worlds, unlimited storage for crafting components, a portable fast travel "survival tent", an exclusive NCR Ranger outfit and unique emotes. 1,650 Atoms, an in-game currency (Worth around £12) will also be given to Fallout 1st members every month.
It's no coincidence that the Atom allowance granted to premium subscribers is worth roughly the same as the subscription itself. Bethesda is essentially offering a handful of minor in-game benefits if a player promises to spend £11.99 on Atoms each month; there seems to be little else that justifies the cost.
Time will tell how this goes down among the Fallout 76 playerbase...
Fallout 76 players can become Fallout 1st members now on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
