PopSlinger Coming to Nintendo Switch!

Join Ria Carbon, once an ordinary girl, now the goofball hero known as PopSlinger, as she sets out to rid the world of monsters and Corazones. What are Corazones? Well, they're the ones leading the invasion of gooey monsters that can only be stopped with Ria's soda-powered guns. 

PopSlinger was inspired by '90s anime, and Ria would fit right into one. Getting her powers from a former PopSlinger named Gin, but it's not only Corazones she has to worry about. Along with these invaders, she clashes with an agent from a secret organisation of her own world. As she battles monsters, she embarks on a classic beat 'em up adventure where Ria racks up her high scores.

What are the high scores good for? Well, it's important to climb to the top of the scoreboards. There's a great deal of nostalgia implemented in the arcade-inspired scoring mechanics, and the ranking system can be used to unlock different flavoured guns. As Ria beats enemies, collect the Popping Souls after each fight, so you can gain power for more weapons, or you can increase her health.

The more enemies you beat, the closer you are to Dream Time, which makes Ria unbeatable. Collect massive points and climb through the ranks as you perfect multiple sequences in a row. Of course, each target you shoot can get Ria different abilities. If you need examples, double will invoke former PopSlinger Gin as a rearguard, while heal will get you a can of soda to speed up recovery. The story progresses faster and faster, with the soundtrack doing so as well.

Overall, PopSlinger looks like a game that's perfectly suited in its nostalgia-driven world. With the developers inspired by both music and anime, if you're interested in any of these, then PopSlinger might be the game for you.
