Political Animals Canvassing on PC and Mac this Autumn
With the EU referendum in the UK, the U.S. and Australian General Elections in 2016 and the Mongolian Legislative Election, there’s certainly a lot of politics going on this year. In recognition of that, Squeaky Wheel Studio is releasing Political Animals. Hailing from the Philippines, the team at Squeaky Wheel also had a General Election to consider this year, so crafting this game about cute animals may well be the counter they need to all of that seriousness.
The game looks at the political process through the eyes of a cast of colourful cartoon animals. With politicians often compared to caricatures anyway, it seems like an obvious choice. Will you play as a sneaky weasel or a loyal lap dog? Be careful when analysing the candidates though; scratch beneath the surface and you could well find a wolf in sheep’s clothing.
Players guide a candidate through the swampy waters of an election campaign but here, the smug businessmen, commie sympathisers, liberal do-gooders and retired sports and movie stars that usually run for office are recreated in adorable animal form.
