Pokémon Go Fans Upset with Niantic Over Recent Changes
Niantic is under hot water after announcing that in April, Pokémon GO's Community Days will be reverted back to its pre-pandemic length of only two hours long.
The dissatisfaction of the playerbase was already there, as the developers have recently reverted how the in-game item Incense works back to pre-2020 design. Meaning that Pokémon will only spawn every five minutes instead of one.
Although Niantic had made the changes in response to the global pandemic so that players could continue enjoying Pokémon GO inside their homes, they never had an intention to stop their game from doing what they had envisioned it for: motivating everyone to go outside, get moving, and do some exercise. Although they promised to keep the changes for the adjusted distance, it seems Niantic is still trying to find a middle ground between them and the playerbase.
