PlayStation 4 Shortage Hits Europe
Sony CEO Andrew House has stated that for a second Christmas season demand for PlayStation 4 consoles is meeting , but not yet exceeding, demand.
In a repeat of last year the number of PlayStation 4 consoles available is just about the same as those sold. In a conversation with Reuters, Sony Computer Entertainment CEO Andrew House said the company is having a hard time keeping up.
If I look at Europe I think it is potentially, for the second year running, going to be quite inventory challenged. I'm not going to say you won't be able to find a PlayStation 4. I think it's going to be kind of hand to mouth in terms of that market.
While Europe seems to be going great guns, North America and Japan are proving slightly trickier for SCE as Americans are seeing deep discounts on Xbox One and the Japanese market has seen a swing to mobile gaming.

"Hey, those Brits freak out if they hear the word 'shortage', so let's tell them that!" So the factory has been building consoles for 12 months, without being able to cope with demand that they knew was coming? There was no way that demand would be LESS this year, than last year - that's something you can plan for. I call bull.

Yup, total shenannigans. Silly people. I know for a fact that the second hand market has loads.
