Play NES Games From Afar With the NES Retro Receiver

Nobody likes cables. They get chewed on by family pets, tangle themselves into each other, and trip up anybody who happens to walk in front of the screen while you're playing games (although that one serves them right to be honest). The early models of console didn't have wireless controllers like we've got so used to now, so if you're a retro gamer, then you're destined to be tethered to your console like a dog on a leash at all times.

8BitDo are coming to the rescue now however with their new product, the NES Retro Receiver. This tiny dongle plugs into your NES, or compatible device and will accept controls via Bluetooth. It's designed to support as many controls as possible, meaning that you can use a Wii U Pro pad, a Dual Shock 4, and an Xbox pad among others. Essentially, it supports nearly any Bluetooth controller that you can lay your hands on, including 8BitDo's own brand or wireless controllers. It's available now from Funstock

I'd love to see someone using a Steam controller to play Super Mario Bros. 3.

If only I had a Steam Controller. And Super Mario Brothers actually! If this is a success, I hope they do a Mega Drive one. The short cables on that system are a pain.
