PlatinumGames will Announce One of its Four Upcoming Games Next Week

Recently, PlatinumGames has been teasing four upcoming titles on its website, with the kickstarter funded remaster for The Wonderful 101 being one of the four. The next of these four titles is set to be announced during next week’s issue of Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu that drops on the 27th February, 2020.

Given the dedicated fanbase that Platinum has cultivated over the years, this announcement has unsurprisingly led to a lot of speculation from fans. It seems likely that the project will be something on a smaller scale, akin to The Wonderful 101’s remaster. Maybe another remaster of an older title, or a smaller indie budget title?

What it almost definitely won’t be however, is a new update or information for Bayonetta 3. PlatinumGames co-creator (and the original Bayonetta’s director) Hideki Kamiya mentioned in the latest Famitsu issue that he was aware that fans have been left waiting for new information for a long time, since the game’s initial tease in 2017. He clarified that development was still proceeding smoothly, so hopefully there will be more information and a potential release date shown off at some point during the year.

The Wonderful 101’s director Hideki Kamiya and producer Atsushi Inaba will both be attending PAX East next week, with a panel for the remaster on the 27th February 2020, so expect some mention of the new upcoming title during the panel as well.
