Peter Molyneux Denies Retirement Rumours
Industry veteran Peter Molyneux is known for being a prolific creator and hard working coder. The developer, who has been making games since 1982, is not however, quite so good at securing his social media profiles. This evening a series of tweets were posted, announcing his retirement:
Worry not though, for the creator of Fable, Dungeon Keeper and Theme Park isn't leaving the industry just yet. The tweets were removed swiftly and replaced instead with a message announcing that his twitter account had been hacked and he's very much not retiring.
Ahh my account has been hacked, ( you can tell cos they know how to spell) I am not retiring, not closing godus

His development studio echoed the sentiments by confirming that they are still working with Peter on Godus and they have new features in the pipeline to be revealed.
22cans and Peter are still developing Godus and we can't wait to show you what we've all been working on! Thanks for your concern. 2/2

There's no indication exactly what happened to compromise Peter's account, however the last post prior was from a trend analysis service. This could be connected or just a co-incidence as it's just as likely his account was compromised by an angry Godus fan. There was a large amount of backlash with the game from its community when it was released late and devoid of a number of key features that were promised.

He's a staple of gaming culture - it would be like Shigsy retiring.

He'll be coding until the end. He's like the Bowie of the gaming world.
