Oddworld: Soulstorm Trailer
It’s been almost five years since the 2014 release of Oddworld’s New ‘n’ Tasty, a faithful remake of the original Abe’s Oddysee. Today’s trailer shows that it’s follow-up is more of a reimagining of the original sequel.
Oddworld: Soulstorm is the second game in the planned new Oddworld series picking up where New ‘n’ Tasty ended. Having overthrown RuptureFarms, Abe is tasked with leading the 300 newly-freed slave worker Mudokons to safety. With no food or water, the Mudokuns turn to a mysterious new drink to get them through the harsh desert wilderness they find themselves in. A drink that holds a terrible secret which threatens the new-found freedom of Abe and his followers.
A brand new, re-imagining of the original Abe’s Exoddus, Oddworld: SoulStorm looks set to add looting and crafting to its gameplay mechanics, giving the player new and interesting ways to solve those perilous platform puzzles and get those Mudokuns to safety. Built in Unity, SoulStorm looks to be bigger, badder, and more beautiful than any of the games that came before in this brand new trailer.
With over 15 million games sold, the Oddworld series looks to release a full quintology, with this second installment scheduled for release on PC and consoles in 2020.
