Nosgoth Nearing Release

With the huge runaway success of 2015’s surprise hit and GameGrin’s game of the year, Rocket League, it’d be easy to forget that Psyonix have another game in development. Nosgoth, their team based shooter set in the Legacy of Kain universe, has had over a year in Early Access, picking up a cult following along the way. With development in that time getting the game close to where the indie developer want, the time is near when Nosgoth will get itself a full release.

Square Enix London Studios will be publishing the game and their design director, Bill Beacham, sat down with gaming website EuroGamer to discuss the title and revealed that the launch is imminent. When asked about a release date, he told them: "We haven't announced a date for that but it will be soon".

The game has been in Early Access since 2013 and whilst it’s set in the Legacy of Kain universe, Beacham was keen to point out that “it's not Soul Reaver 3." Indeed, the game that would have been Soul Reaver 3, Legacy of Kain: Dead Sun, was cancelled back in 2012, much to the dismay of fans of the series. Whether or not the full release of Nosgoth will fill that void for fans remains to be seen, but it won’t be too long before we find out.
