Noisy Gamers Have Tech Seized
A story in the Manchester Evening News has reported that a group of noisy gamers have had 'hundreds of pounds worth of equipment seized from their house' by police.
The students, who attend Salford University and Manchester Metropolitan University, were reportedly keeping neighbours up until 4am with their combination of PlayStation gaming and surround sound speakers.
After various incidents which are believed to have started in October this year, the students from Fallowfield, were visited on numerous occasions by council officers. The Manchester Evening News reports that 'when that failed to have an effect they were officially given a noise abatement order last Friday (7th November) - but complaints about the noise continued'.
As a result, the students were visited by council officers, accompanied by the police who seized the students' equipment, including a PS3, five Philips surround sound speakers, two laptop speakers, a Philips DVD player and Samsung flat screen TV.
The students are welcome to have their items returned after 28 days but in exchange of a 'hefty fine'.
