Nintendo Unveils Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp Complete
Seven years ago, on the 25th of October 2017, Animal Crossing released its mobile version, where players all around the world could take a bit of the cosy experience with them on the go. Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp became one of the go-to free-to-play social simulation titles for Nintendo fans, as you could become a brand-new campground manager.
It's been a few years since then, and a little while ago, Nintendo announced the termination of service, where players would no longer be able to access the experience. Though we have known for a while that a paid version would be releasing at a later date, it wasn't until the 27th of October when we learnt about the official version.
Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp Complete will be the place where campers can call home. This new version will be a one-time purchase app where players can continue their adventures, collecting all of the animals and working to max out their relationships, including all of the previous quality-of-life improvements... and much more!
Existing players can transfer their save data after buying the app. You'll be able to keep your player information, including the items you've acquired, your level with the campers, and everything to the new version of the game. This ensures that the "termination" of service is more of a transition from multiplayer experience to a single-player one, as you'll still be able to keep everything you've worked (or paid) for.
Your campsite's layout, cabin, and camper will all be transferred, though even better, you can also get your current and saved outfits transferred, as the app will feature a lot of the subscription services previously available for free!
Not everything will be transferred, though — Leaf Tickets are being officially discontinued and replaced with Leaf Tokens. You'll acquire this currency through Bell exchanges or through completing tasks, and these will serve the purpose of Leaf Tickets moving forward, as you'll be able to shorten craft time and purchase unique items with it.This is just one of the few features that will be discontinued, including the Pocket Camp Club monthly subscription and the Friends feature, where you could send gifts or sell in the market box.
Though the Pocket Camp Club subscription is being discontinued, many of its features will still be part of the purchasable game. You'll be able to walk around with your favourite Villager, save up to eight sets of camp layouts, and decorate your planner with all of the stickers.
And though the Friends feature is being removed, you can instead get Camper Cards to add your friends via a QR code. You'll be able to create your very own Camper Card, where you'll pick your favourite Villager and outfit. Every Camper Card that you save will turn into friends that appear in the brand-new Whistle Pass location. Here, your friends (and their selected Villagers) will appear, and at 7 PM, you will be able to listen to a K.K. Slider concert with all of them and even talk to them to get gifts.
Despite the fact that you can't chat with your friends in the current live version of Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp, you'll still be able to take a partof them with you. Your friends who play in the most updated version of the game, V.6.0.0, and purchase Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp Complete, will automatically be turned into a Camper Card for you to take into the new paid version.
And if you're disappointed about the lack of events, then don't be! Events that have been previously held will be repeated on a four-year cycle, giving you the opportunity to celebrate the changing seasons! You'll have the opportunity to collect items you may have missed out on and invite the animals that you still were working towards.
That's not all, though. Nintendo announced that Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp Complete will still have a few more events and cookies available for the app. Already teased are brand-new Christmas decorations coming in December 2024, and new content will keep streaming in until September 2025. Until then, though, you can enjoy new themes, like "candlelit" and "Toy Day book store," which will appear for those who have been with the game for seven years and wish to see a little bit more free content.
The Complete Item Catalog will feature most of the items that existed previously; you won't even have to wait for their season to arrive! Get more furniture than ever before to decorate your campsite and get the items you've always wanted.
Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp Complete is set to release on the 3rd of December, though pre-orders are available on the App Store now and pre-registration on Google Play. Once purchased, you can transfer your save data and ensure that when the game releases, you can resume your adventure collecting everything.
Those who purchase the game early will be able to get it for the unique introductory price of £8.99, valid until 31st of January 2025 at 06:00 GMT, after which point the price will be £17.99.
