Nintendo Switch Has Surpassed 40 Million Units Sold
The incredibly popular Nintendo Switch has now breached the 40 million threshold, selling a total of 41.67 million units overall. This news came from a Nintendo financial report that was released recently, which documents the sales of the system up until the end of September.
As of June, the console had sold 36.87 million units, meaning that there has been a near five million unit increase in the span of three months. This is hugely impressive for the Summer period, and it might indicate that the Switch will be able to beat out the SNES lifetime sales of 49.10 million by the time the next financial report is released.
Early sales figures for the Nintendo Switch Lite have also been revealed, with the strictly handheld version of the system managing to sell 1.95 million units within its first 10 days on the market. It’s a respectable amount for a new system revision, and its momentum is likely to increase over the Christmas period.
The next big release for Nintendo Switch is Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield, which are set to release on 15th November.
