Nintendo Shows off New Gameplay Footage of Legend of Zelda Wii U
Nintendo had a few announcements at this year's Game Awards, the biggest of which was the reveal of gameplay footage for Zelda for the Wii U.
The reveal came from Eiji Aonuma and Shigeru Miyamoto as they showed off the world in which the game will take place in, as well a number of other features. The map was shown via the Gamepad and the world looks massive, you are able to traverse the world easily by placing beacons to highlight your destination.
The sailcloth previously seen in Skyward Sword is returning and allows you to glide to destinations from atop mountains for a safer means of getting down. Gamepad use was kept to a minimum, but you can look around in first person through it and aim using the gyroscope.
Link's horse Epona was also shown, and to make traversing the environment easier Epona will avoid obstacles such as trees and fences making it easier for Link to act in combat or move the camera to take in the surroundings.
This new Zelda title will be released sometime next year, no specific date has been given yet.

Not sure what to think of that. Seemed more like a tech demo than gameplay. Hopefully Nintendo pull it off.

There's still over a year to go and the premise looks very promising, I think they will.

Still can't see this being a system seller though

Probably not a truly substantial amount but similar to how Mario Kart 8 helped the console this year.
