Nintendo Rep Responds to Joy-Con Drift Controversy
Recently a large number of users have been subject to the ‘Joy-Con Drift’ hardware issue, where a Joy-Con controller will detect movement without any physical input from the players. There have been rare cases of this issue since the launch of the console, however more frequent reports have recently led to a class-action lawsuit against the company.
Upon being contacted by Kotaku, a Nintendo representative has responded to the issue; “At Nintendo, we take great pride in creating quality products and we are continuously making improvements to them. We are aware of recent reports that some Joy-Con controllers are not responding correctly. We want our consumers to have fun with Nintendo Switch, and if anything falls short of this goal we always encourage them to visit http://support.nintendo.com so we can help”.
Unfortunately even after repairs, some Nintendo Switch users have still experienced issues with the Joy-Con controllers drifting. With the Nintendo Switch having a packed lineup in the coming months with titles such as Astral Chain, Luigi’s Mansion 3 and Pokémon Sword and Shield, hopefully Nintendo will be able to offer solutions that provide a permanent fix.

It's annoying that I only found out that this was a thing 3 days after my right Joy-Con started drifting.
