Nidhogg 2 Coming this August
Nidhogg, the frantic, side-scrolling dueling title from 2014 is getting a sequel arriving next month. Nidhogg 2 takes a dramatic shift in art style compared to the previous title which will now include full character customisation and new weapons to wield.
The developers, Messhof Games, explained the reasoning for the art style was because of the limitation of the pixel art-style. There is only so much you can do with those pixels, so what they went and did was create a new visual style to cater for their new expansion of new weapons, levels, and customisation.
Sure enough, though, the gameplay still is the focus with side-scrolling one versus one fencing, dueling action across a multitude of levels and arenas with gruesome and grotesque art from Toby Dixon and music from Mux Mool, Baths, Doseone, Osborne, and Daedelus.
Check out the trailer above for more and be sure to check Niddhogg 2 or PC and PlayStation 4 when it arrives on the 15th of August.
