New Videogame and Television Series "Sonic Boom" Announced
After a week of heavy rumours, Sega have finally announced a brand new Sonic the Hedgehog game. It's called Sonic Boom, and it's an official tie-in with an upcoming television show and range of toys of the same name.
The videogame is coming to Wii U and 3DS, making it the third and final Sonic title in Sega's exclusivity deal with Nintendo. A brand new developer Big Red Button Entertainment will handle the Wii U version while Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time developer Sanzaru Games tackle the 3DS version.
The television will begin airing in the United States on Cartoon Network later this year. The initial run will consist of 52 11-minute long episodes.
Right now the main topic of discussion is the redesign of the main characters. All of them have been adjusted for longer legs and a generally more human looking appearance. Also now Sonic wears a neckerchief, Tails sports a utility belt and Knuckles has been jacked up and now towers over all of the other characters.
