New Gameplay Demonstration Reveals More Details About Luigi's Mansion 3's Multiplayer

The Luigi’s Mansion franchise has always been viewed as more of a single player experience, with the first title being solely single player. However, starting with the 3DS sequel Luigi’s Mansion: Dark Moon, there has been an effort to incorporate more multiplayer elements into the franchise, and this trend is continuing with Luigi’s Mansion 3’s ScreamPark mode.

ScreamPark mode acts as a multiplayer mini-game collection separate from the main game, akin to the mini-games that you might find in Mario Party (albeit with a more spooky tone). A recent video on the official Nintendo YouTube channel focuses on three of the different mini-games that will be in the ScreamPark mode - Ghost Hunt, Cannon Barrage and Coin Floating.

Ghost Hunt is a simple premise: two teams are sent out to hunt ghosts controlling their own Luigi, and the team who captures the most ghosts at the end wins. There will be specific ghosts that are more valuable than others, giving players some more choice than just mindlessly sucking-up the ghosts that are closest to them.

Cannon Barrage requires a little bit more teamwork, as team members will have to co-operate to load up a cannon to shoot at targets, while also loading the cannon with more balls. Lastly is Coin Floating, where players have to collect coins from a pool in a floaty while also avoiding mines.

Each mini-game can be played with two to eight players, with at least one player on each team. Luigi’s Mansion 3 is set to release 31st October, exclusively for Nintendo Switch.
