New Cycle Releases Demo and Gameplay Footage

New Cycle, a post-apocalyptic base-builder, is making its debut with a new free-to-play demo and in-game trailer, giving players a first-hand look at the world and gameplay mechanics the game has to offer. While the demo features a full tutorial and sandbox mode, the full release will launch with four different game modes along with four maps.

Humanity in New Cycle is getting a second chance. Following a solar flare that destroyed the world 50 years prior, survivors are pushing forward with development and progress — tying into the game’s philosophy that stagnant survival cannot be an end goal, and humanity can strive for more. New Cycle aims to use a hybrid of mechanics, bringing something both new and familiar to the city-builder genre. You can sculpt the landscape using grids for intricate planning or you can freely build around the map when creating your settlement. A thriving population will depend on Morale, Efficiency, and Workforce, mechanics which you’ll manage along with allocating resources from foraging, mining, or trade. Moving humanity forward will also require developing forgotten technologies and enacting societal rules.
