New Balance Changes in Patch 14.13 in League of Legends Arena
The brand-new League of Legends patch 14.13 brings a slew of Arena-focused changes as Riot Games expands their game modes ecosystem and trials out a few things. In an attempt to keep Arena engaging, the game mode has seen an extended stay while the team explores it a bit further, which will see the long-term effects of having Arena enabled and see whether player retention maintains past a few weeks/months.
To this end, Riot Games is also creating balance patches specifically focused on Arena to ensure the gamemode remains fun and fair for everyone. There were a few things that were added in this patch, and we'll be touching on them here!
Free Champion Rotation
A new free champion rotation has been set for Arena, creating a static Free-to-Play pool of 31 different champions to ensure that you can create whatever whacky combinations you want without having to purchase the champion.This is a great addition to ensure a variety, especially stacked on top of the Arena bans that were added a while back. The 31 champions added were:
