New 2DS Bundles and Faceplates for the New 3DS Coming to Celebrate Pokemon's Anniversary
As part of the 20th Anniversary Pokémon celebrations, Nintendo are releasing a number of new hardware items and bundles to celebrate. With the original games coming to the E-Shop on 27th February, fans can now adorn their consoles with the characters both outside and in.
In a fitting tribute to where it all began, the new Nintendo 2DS Special Edition bundles include a Nintendo 2DS system in super-nineties style transparent red, blue or yellow and a pre-installed Virtual Console version of Pokémon Red Version, Pokémon Blue Version or Pokémon Yellow Version: Special Pikachu Edition, corresponding to the Nintendo 2DS system’s colour. The bundles also feature classic packaging reminiscent of the original Game Boy games, a sheet of 15 stickers that can be used to customise the Nintendo 2DS system, and a download code for a Home Menu theme. These bundles are confirmed for Japan and Europe so far.
US gamers can instead look forward to a New Nintendo 3DS bundle of similar proportions. This bundle comes with both the Red and Blue versions of the game pre-installed and two changeable faceplates, one in each colour featuring either Charizard or Blastoise. These cover plates will be available separately in Europe but there's no word on the New 3DS bundle hitting these shores just yet.
If that's not enough Pokémon goodness for you, then you'll be pleased to know that also arriving early this year is a packaged version of Pokémon Rumble World. This is set to launch across Europe on 22nd January for the 3DS. Originally released as a downloadable game on Nintendo eShop in April 2015, this packaged version will provide the full Pokémon Rumble World experience, alongside a number of features reconfigured especially for this packaged version of the game.
To round things off, on the 19th February Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon for the 3DS will launch. Featuring 720 species of Pokémon, random dungeons filled with near-infinite challenges, and the chance to team up and battle alongside some of the series’ most iconic Legendary and Mythical Pokémon, this mystery dungeon affair is the largest yet. Until 17th March, those who purchase the game on Nintendo eShop will receive a download code for a free theme for their 3DS Home Menu featuring classic Pokémon such as Charizard, Pikachu and Bulbasaur.

That Pikachu one is absolutely brilliant. Would love to add these all to my collection.
