Need for Speed for PC Delayed

Need for Speed for PC Delayed

Need For Speed fans will have to wait just a little bit longer for a PC version of the newest entry to the franchise. While the console release is unaffected, due to the community feedback they will delay the game on pc till 2016.

This will give Ghost Games time to keep the framerate running at a stable 60 frames as well as giving the game visual polish.

The developers have been quoted saying:

this decision on PC gives us the necessary development time to increase the visuals that we can deliver on PC. We will also include content updates that will have been released on console up to that time, making them available to all PC players from day one.

While this might also mean free DLC down the road for PC players, you will have to wait just a little longer to start your engines.

"We've seen what happened to WB Games after Arkham Knight shipped. We want to keep our money."

Though, Origin doesn't have a refund procedure, does it?

It's a good thing they're doing this. Rivials was ruined cause the 30FPS cap on PC and I don't see why it should be capped it's the frost bite engine!

Origin do offer a refund on games they did it before Steam - https://www.origin.com/en-gb/great-game-guarantee - Of course not many know as so little care about Origin haha.

Surely it would have been easier to just unlock the frame rate during development, instead of delay it?

I think was a last minute decision. The code would of been based on Rivials, which was 30FPS capped caue of their crappy AllDrive. And it's pretty clear that the primary version is either PS4 or Xbone, so the PC version would need more time to remove caps present in console version.
