Natual Selection's Source Code is Now Available for Free Download
Unknown Worlds have released the source code for Natural Selection, their Half-Life Mod, for free. In a statement released by Producer Hugh Jeremy we are told the code is available from the GitHub website.
Today, we are proud to announce that Natural Selection Source Code is now available to anyone, free of charge. Head on over to GitHub to get it. It’s not ‘open source’ – There is some legal hoo-ha that prevents that. But it is all there.
- Hugh Jeremy, Unknown Worlds Producer
The Natural Selection source code can be used to make new versions of the game, fix problems or simply just to see how it all worked. Full details about the Natural Selection and Half-Life SDK licenses are available on the HitGub Page prior to download.
The first-person RTS was first publicly released in 2002 and the mod's sequel, Natural Selection 2, launched in 2012.
