Mountaintop Studios Details Spectre Divide Season 1 in New Developer Update Video
Since its September 2024 launch, Spectre Divide has navigated rough waters, as mixed player feedback and slow matchmaking made for a tough start. Now, Mountaintop Studios is bringing big changes to this free-to-play tactical shooter, which are set to arrive in the Season 1: Flashpoint update. Players can expect this new content drop in late February.
As detailed in Mountaintop Studios’ latest Developer Update video linked above, everything previously slated for Spectre Divide’s first season will still be included in the coming update. Players will get their hands on Monark Tactical, the 9th Sponsor; a Battlepass with more than 70 total rewards (that won’t be a huge grind); the Careers Tab, where players can see a variety of stats; and end-of-season rewards based on rank.
So, what else has Mountaintop been cooking up? Spectre Divide is expanding its reach with a console launch, an exciting feat for the devs, especially since they like how the gameplay feels on a controller. Additionally, a new map titled Canal will be introduced, which features a Fast Recall Zone right in the middle of the area and a sewer system to travel through.
Spectre Divide is also improving player movement with the addition of Sprinting, a change that was made in response to player feedback about slow rotations.
Check out Spectre Divide’s Season 1: Flashpoint when it arrives this February on PC via Steam, and keep an eye out for more details on the new PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S versions.
