Motiga Detail Gigantic Plans for 2016
Despite some disappointment at having to lay off a number of staff recently, James Phinney at Motiga is optimistic for the road ahead for Gigantic. He spoke on the game's website of where the cartoon-styled MOBA has come, and where he wants to see it go in the new year.
The title is presently in closed beta, having been in an alpha stage at the start of this year. It's planned for release exclusively on Windows 10 and Xbox One next year. The company are valuing the feedback that they get from this testing, although their Non Disclosure Agreement means they cannot reveal everything. The one thing that they can state though, is their unwavering vision for the game which Phinney was keen to talk about:
"Our vision for Gigantic has not changed, and we believe we are making something unique and special and awesome. We are not re-imagining the last big thing. We are striving to build the next big thing. Our plan for that is a combination of unique playable heroes, dramatic battles, and massive guardians. Gigantic is a game of teamwork and player skill, of dynamic action and thoughtful strategy, of fierce combat and joyful movement. At a basic level, it’s a shooter MOBA designed to let gamers of different backgrounds play together, while at the high end, it’s intended to hold up to serious competitive play. At its core, this is a project not driven by cynical marketing or cookie cutter design. It is a risk. Gigantic reflects the passion and inspiration of the people making the game. We believe in it."
