Monster Sanctuary Forgotten World DLC

Team17 and Moi Rai Games — the team behind Monster Sanctuary — have graced us with the much-anticipated "Forgotten World" DLC!

The Forgotten World is the most significant update to come to Monster Sanctuary yet, and it is entirely free! In it, players will be able to explore a brand-new area filled with 10 monsters (five of which were community-built!), two new outfits, 78 new skills to fight with, 13 new items, and three new game modes!

The new area is a late-game area, which you'll be able to explore before entering the Abandoned Tower or after finishing the main storyline. Within the Forgotten World will be nine of the 10 new monsters to acquire, while the tenth is a new secret Champion located in the Blue Cave. 

The three new game modes available are the Randomizer, Bravery, and Permadeath modes; you can enable and disable these through the menu. All three can be activated on any of the difficulty levels, and you can also use them in an NG+ file; you can enable and disable them at will and as many or as little as you'd like. The game modes are:

• Randomizer: An officially-incorporated randomiser, which you can use to replay the game with different monsters. 
• Bravery: This mode will test your team-building skills; you'll start with only three monsters, and you'll only be able to acquire additional eggs at the entrance of each area and some story events.
• Permadeath: Once your monsters get knocked out in battle, they will become defeated and won't be able to be used in encounters any longer. You will be able to use their exploration ability, however. If all monsters become defeated, the Permadeath gets disabled, allowing you to use them again.

The update was made completely free because the team didn't want to split the PvP playerbase between those that owned it and those that didn't; for that reason, they kept the DLC free. After prodding from the community, the developers set up a tip jar that you can use to support them for the DLC if you wish to! Check it out by scrolling down on the official website!
