Monster Hunter X Coming to Western Shores as Monster Hunter Generations
Billed by Nintendo as “the most customizable Monster Hunter experience to date”, the latest entry in the popular RPG series is coming to the UK this summer. The title was known by the X moniker in Japan, but will instead be given the name Generations in the west, presumably Nintendo didn’t think we like the letter X over here. The game sees players protecting “The Fated Four”, four villages in the game which need protecting from monsters. A launch trailer has been released, showing what we can expect from the fifth major title in the series.
This latest installment marks the debut of new gameplay mechanics such as Styles and Hunter Arts which allow players to create the most custom, personalised playstyle of any Monster Hunter game yet. Players can choose from four distinct combat Styles, like Aerial which adds the ability to attack and mount monsters from mid-air. With the introduction of devastating new attack skills and power-ups known as Hunter Arts, the action looks more visually striking than ever before on Nintendo 3DS. For the first time in the series, players will also now have the ability to play as a Felyne in the new Prowler Mode.
