Minecraft PC Sales Hit 14 Million

Minecraft creator Markus "Notch" Persson has announced on his Twitter account that the game has now sold over 14 million copies for Windows PC and Mac.

The figure doesn't include sales of the console versions; the Xbox 360 version released in 2012 sold around six million copies in its first year and the PlayStation 3 version sold over a million copies in its first month. Minecraft - Pocket Edition for mobile has also sold over ten million copies.

PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita versions of Minecraft are both expected to be released this year.
